This coffee is produced by the Grupo Asociativo con Fines Ecologicos de El Macizo Colombiano or MACIZO. MACIZO is comprised of 50 small coffee growers who each have between 1 and 7 hectares of land. They have a cupping lab and pay their pickers additional wages to harvest only ripe cherries in order to produce a high quality coffee. As a result of their commitment to quality, they have been finalists in the Cup of Excellence contest several times. Only 20% of the coffee produced by MACIZO is used for the El Diamante coffee.
